Ok, so i started about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
I bought a shiz load of boosters (noob mistake). And they didnt give me enough lands so i ordered from a great site i found (www.blackborder.com) And i ordered a total of 250 lands(giving half to my friend). And i also bought a deck box and one for my friend, and a 250 card grab bag for a total of 24 bucks. Good deal i suppose.
Anyways.
Questions:
I have been looking at videos where people are playing faerie decks.
Where would i find a faerie deck?
Also, I have been doing research and i have found out about MTG Online?
Could someone please explain a little bit more about MTG Online and maybe give a link to a site that you play it on.
Once again, I know I am a noob.
But i am a noob that really wants to learn.
Thanks,
Brett
youtube is the best place allso you can go to magic the gathering.com/ webcast they will show the past tornaments on there so you should beable to find one with faerie's
lol i made the same mistake with the boosters but i got lucky i want to a tornament where i got a few lands i am trying to start collectioning again so i i can compete but right now since there is't really anyone around to play i mainly play online.
Magic the gathering online is an account you have with Wizards of the Coast TM
A name by HASBRO INC This is a paid account where you buy, play, organise, and not lastly, trade digital cards
I got my online set and started the game and recieved a few packs of boosters. Also there is a market where you can even recieve free cards. once you gather enough cards to complete a set from a block you can have the cards shipped to your home. The card store is where you purchase booster packs for events and as well as one dollar and tax for an event ticket which normally are used in the community marketplace and are required to use event tickets in leu of your boosters this is a one time fee for the account to be activated :)
Decks can be organised and saved as a .dek file as a word document which MTGO can save and load decks that contain any card allowed in any certain format, hope that helps.
MTG online is from wizards of the cost and you can find it on the wizards homepage. The upside of MTG online is the large comunity it holds the downside is that it cost real money for digital product. you can buy bosster etc. that are just for the onlin game and they cost the same as real world boosters do. however if the double cost might turn you away theres always pauper. pauper is a play format meaning that only certain cards are allowed for play. in pauper this means only commons and that makes deckbuilding much cheaper, very much cheaper ^^.
about the faires. there are several decks that play faires some are fun decks, some are deck for tournaments. im not sure if there is a preconstructed deck that focuses on faires but the tournament deck are not avalible to be bought as a pack. you can buy, find in boosters or trade all the cards you need for those. be warned though decks thatare built for tournament play are offten considert "unfun" in fun (casual) games and very often contain cards that have high prices on the singel card marked (simply because they play the best cards there are and lost of people want to do the same so demand is high).
some notes on you introductory comments. for some people buying boosters is the way to go. a friend of mine regulary pulls rares out of boosters that cost 4x+ of what the booster cost. i dont so i dont buy boosters most of the time. its a bit of a personal choice and neither wrong nor right.
i dont know what was in that grabbag but basic lands have almost no value to most magic players. after a while you start tanking them for granted to the point where you start giving them away for free when someone is in demand. building lots of new decks lately left me short of basic lands so i went to my lokal store and asked if the even botherd to sell basic lands at all. they gave me 100 for free.
hope that helps on your first few steps if you have any more questions just post them here if i see it ill try answering to the best of my abilitys.
