Site layout / themes?

Are there any options for this? The site as is feels.. very default, spartan, and uncomfortable. pdcmagic.com's forums are in such a standardized format that browsing them is second nature. The discussion / forum areas here feel alien and uninviting... something that will ultimately contribute to less usage.

That said... does this "ning" allow for themes or redesign or layout changes?

You can reposition the modules and you can use custom HTML for the layout, to an extent, so yes...

We could try and approach the same look as PDCMagic.com, but I'm sure it will never be quite the same.

However, the fact that it's ALL user-created content here is hugely appealing and would allow the site to remain active and dynamic long after webmasters come and go (which, as you've noticed, is a common trend).

Actually the way user can add content is nicely done... but the forum, which should be the core, is approximative, unless I didn't notice it (which anyway means it is out of sight) it misses the navigation history (blabla >> forum >> classic..). Added that, a nice jpg on the top, and put some order in the forums (dividing in community, game, extras) it will be just as fine as actual PDCmagic.
I've seen an "add application" somewhere, is it possible to port the gatherling stuff that way? What are exactly "applications"?
